Our services.
We operate an inspection facility with over 20,000 square feet of space and a large array of state-of-the-art equipment covering a variety of inspection and testing disciplines.
Ultrasonic Inspection
With digital ultrasonic inspection equipment and four automated scanning systems, NDE Labs is capable of efficiently testing items ranging from simple plate stock to complex composite structures.
Automated digital acquisition C-scan
Non-immersion - Composites – lamina and sandwich
Immersion, including bar and plate stock, forgings and castings
Portable
Pulse-echo – longitudinal, shear, TOF
Bond testing
Multiple Standards
Aluminum, titanium, stainless
Custom capabilities
Magnetic Particle Inspection
We perform both wet and dry magnetic particle inspections and we have machines capable of receiving parts up to eight feet in length. Larger parts can often be inspected using portable equipment or special cable wrap techniques.
4x Magwerks bench testing units
100-inch bed length
6000-amp capacity
Full demagnetization capability
Each testing unit served by a 2-ton overhead crane
Eddy Current Inspection
We perform eddy current inspection on both new and in-service parts using state-of-the-art eddy current inspection equipment. Our involvement goes from technique development to specimen inspection and evaluation, including production of necessary probes and reference standards.

Digital Imaging
Our digital microscope provides enhanced capabilities for evaluating and documenting surface discontinuities found during NDT operations. Additionally, it is invaluable for metallurgical fracture face evaluations and for documenting and measuring various surface conditions.
Mechanical Testing
Tensile and shear testing up to 120,000 lbs. can be performed on machined test specimens or fasteners. Instrumented, computer controlled tensile tests can be performed on machined specimens providing yield and modulus data. Fasteners up to 1" diameter can be tested. Other services include hydrogen embrittlement, proof-load, and charpy impact testing.
Metallurgical Analysis
Our procedures include microstructure evaluation, grain size determination, micro inclusion rating, grain flow determination, heat treat evaluation (including case evaluation using microhardness testing), forging and casting defect evaluation and plating thickness measurement.
Computed Radiography
Digital X-ray capabilities include CR and CT. See radiographic capabilities above.
